Survival in business is like survival in nature

By YaNi

Today I have finished reading a short book about skills and practices needed to survive when you are all on your own in the bossom of the nature. When I was finishing the 100-page book, it suddenly struck me how many survival tips may be applied to survival in business.

First, the author gave lots of tips of how to survive in the dessert, forest or tundra. Water supply is of the utmost importance. A lone traveller or walker should know how to find water supply source. Is it like looking for the money to keep the business alive?

Second, not all water is good enough for drinking. It should be filtered and sieved. Is it like knowing where to find the funds to finance a project or something?

Third, it is vital to know how to hunt and fish. Finding clients and turning them into customers is almost the same story, isn’t it?

Fourth, cooking from what one finds (mushrooms, plants) is not to be neglected. Seems like production line? We feed it with everything, that will not “poison” it.

Fifth, handling a knife and a rifle is very appropriate in the wild. Being at war with a competitor is not a trifle, too…

It is really amazing how general survival tips for the wild can also work for business spheres.
